"Vessel Planner-Container Terminal" is required for an international Logistics company located in New Cairo.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule the arrival and departure of vessels and communicate with vessel operators regarding their plans.
- Create new vessel profiles and define their structures within the system.
- Maintain regular communication with shipping lines and vessel operators to update cargo details and handle last-minute changes.
- Upload arrival BAPLIE and ensure correct container operator allocation within the system.
- Prepare special container lists for operational efficiency.
- Identify dangerous containers and inform agents to arrange direct delivery as needed.
- Process and upload vessel load lists received from vessel agents.
- Ensure direct loading arrangements for dangerous containers as per regulations.
- Upload MOVINS data accurately and finalize vessel details.
- Generate and send pre-load EDI to the central planner.
- Monitor vessel operations and address delays, equipment malfunctions, or mismatches in cargo specifications.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including manifest reports and loading/discharge records.
- Generate final EDI upon completion of operations and share with the vessel agent.
- Prepare and finalize the vessel operation report and backload list.
- Oversee container terminal operations with expertise in yard planning and equipment utilization.
- Plan yard inventory effectively to maintain productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor yard activities and equipment deployment to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure proper execution of loading and discharging sequences for vessel operations.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Plan crane sequences and yard positions to prevent crane collisions.
- Ensure containers are stacked correctly based on vessel, POD, weight, size, and type.
- Monitor real-time operations using the Terminal Operating System (TOS).
- Supervise container delivery and receiving processes, ensuring accurate equipment allocation.
- Coordinate with controls and gate personnel to facilitate smooth container movements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in vessel planning, container terminal operations.
- Strong understanding of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and vessel planning principles. (Preferred N4 or OTM)
- Knowledge and expertise in yard planning and equipment utilization.
- Proficiency in vessel scheduling, load planning, and cargo handling.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in container handling.
