“Senior Oracle DBA” is required in a Multinational company Maritime Transportation company
Work Location: Cairo
Job Description:
- Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems (Oracle RAC, Grid, ASM, Data Guard, and Golden Gate) across all IT platforms to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Manage customer-facing operational issues, ensuring swift resolution and effective communication.
- Enhance database performance and resource utilization through continuous monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Develop, review, and improve backup and recovery strategies, including data recovery processes in emergencies, to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance and support services for all IT databases under support contracts, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
- Prepare and update high-level and low-level designs to support database setup based on the technologies used.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; Oracle Certified Associate or Professional (OCA or OCP) preferred; Oracle RAC certification is a plus.
- Excellent command of the English language is a must.
- Minimum of three years of experience in Oracle database administration, including advanced setup, design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting on UNIX platforms.
- Proficient in Oracle high availability solutions (Multi-Node RAC, Grid, ASM), database performance tuning, SQL tuning, and managing Oracle Data Guard.
- Experience with Oracle Backup and Recovery using RMAN, as well as database installations, migrations, and patch updates.
- Strong scripting skills for automating DBA tasks, along with expertise in SQL/PLSQL and familiarity with UNIX and Linux operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure database availability, maintain data integrity, and optimize performance through the implementation of high-availability solutions.
