Omar Samra, born 11 August 1978 is an adventurer, mountaineer, entrepreneur, inspirational speaker and future astronaut. He is the first Egyptian and youngest Arab to climb Mount Everest, the 7 Summits and ski to both the Geographic South and North Pole (The Explorer's Grand Slam).

He reached the summit of Mount Everest on the 17th of May 2007. He is also the first Egyptian to complete the 7 Summits challenge on 31 May 2013, climbing the highest mountain on all 7 continents. On 5 December 2013, he was chosen to be an astronaut to become the first Egyptian in space sometime in 2016. On the 28th of December 2014, he also became the first Egyptian and youngest Arab to Ski to the Geographic South Pole. Omar Samra has made it to the North Pole on 21st of April 2015, becoming the first Egyptian and one of 40 people to successfully accomplish the “Explorer’s Grand Slam” challenge, which include climbing the highest mountain on every continent, the 7 summits, and skiing to both the South and North Poles
